Moving toward your goals through benefits, rewards, and motivation
There are many rewards to reaching your goals. The benefits of
reaching your objectives can range from gaining piece of mind
to earning respect and in some cases recognition depending on
the nature and reason for creating the goal.
If the goal was created out of "true need" then achieving
the goal may provide peace and a feeling of safety. For example,
if your goal is to exercise daily because your doctor told you
that you need to or else you will probably experience cardiac
arrest. The benefits will most likely not be public recognition,
but the attainment of the goal itself probably more important
than getting a trophy for your efforts. (Or at least in my opinion)
However, if your goal is to run a marathon, reaching your goal
will be very public and most likely celebrated by all of you
friends and family at the end of the race.
Keeping in mind that there are many type of goals, here are some
generic benefits goal setting, reaching your goals, and reaching
your objectives.
- Keep your promises to your self " remember the most important
to promise to keep is ones you make to yourself.
- Achieving a sense of accomplishment every day
- Gaining a sense of control over your life
- Always moving forward - even when others have stopped progressing
- The development of yourself into what you want to be
- The perception of being "lucky" - by having and being more than
others
- Knowing what you want - So you can recognize it when it show up
The best part about goal reaching benefits is that you can (and
should) set your own reward systems. There are many types of
people and each may have different importance on different kinds
of rewards. For instance, let"s say a person has lost 15
pounds in two months. One person might really like having a group
of people applaud and recognize their accomplishment (for some
the more the better). Another person might get the most satisfaction
from someone asking them if they have lost weight in the grocery
line, and yet others might just want to sit quietly and relish
in their accomplishment. No matter what type of person you are
there are real benefits to reaching your goals and the best part
is you can setup your own rewards.
